Meet the Team – Dylan Fraser – Graduate Engineer
Get to know us a little better! In this edition, meet our Graduate Engineer – Dylan Fraser.
Name: Dylan Fraser
Position: Graduate Engineer
How long have you been with Minnovare?: 13 months
What is your role at Minnovare?: My role is to assist with the development and continual improvement of Minnovare’s products/systems. I also support clients on site and assist with installation and training.
Talk us through your typical day: My days in the office are quite varied. Usually I am processing survey/alignment data, creating or improving in-house tools for data interpretation, designing components for the Production Optimiser system, creating drawings for manufacture, and supporting clients and the technical support team.
On site I work within the normal mine site schedule, generally heading underground with operators to train them on the use of the Production Optimiser. I also assist Production Engineers with the integration of the Production Optimiser into their workflow and ensure that all departments are aware of Production Optimiser system and how to use and maintain it.
What’s your proudest achievement at Minnovare?: Being a part of the Production Optimiser System roll-out has been massively fulfilling as we learn more about integrating the system across different sites. The challenges that we have faced and overcome, along with the knowledge I have gained of the mining industry through my time on site, has been massively valuable.
Where were you born and raised?: I was born in Broome and moved to Perth aged 7 where I’ve lived ever since.
What are your hobbies?: SCUBA diving, snorkeling, bouldering, camping, weightlifting & socialising.
Favourite place in the world?: The South Western region of Western Australia, especially Margaret River and Augusta. Few places in the world are as pristine and we are lucky to have such an area so close to Perth.
Give us your top five movies?: Thor: Ragnarok, Big Hero 6, Interstellar, Captain Phillips, Fight Club.
