Digi-Plan is another industry first from Minnovare. Traditional paper plans and plods are a relic of today’s increasingly autonomous, data-driven industry.
Aside from paper not always faring well in the harsh underground environment, under the paper system information travels too slowly throughout the mine (having to be literally handed from one person to another), often requiring an additional admin resource to enter the data into mine planning software at the end of each shift.
Validity and reliability of the data therefore suffers, with too many ‘blind-spots’ making it hard to enforce accountability on either side of the planning or drilling process. Likewise, data on collar trajectory and projected toe point and/or break-through is often lost – vital data that should always make its way back to engineering.
With Minnovare CORE and Digi-Plan, digital drill plans are ‘pushed’ down from engineering and mine-planning to the individual drill teams themselves – accessible via the Minnovare CORE Mobile App pre-loaded onto the Mobile Interface (touchscreen tablet). From within the App, the driller can recall and carry out the daily drill plan, down to the individual hole, with actual drill data automatically imported back up into the CORE App, ready for syncing and further analysis.
The Interface is simple and easy to use, with minimal back and forth between screens. The driller simply selects the plan, selects the holes, aligns the rig… and commences drilling.
With Digi-Plan the end result is a more efficient, more accurate, more accountable drilling operation that is in turn more reliable and responsive to mine planners.
